I wonder if it’s power? Usually people with proper power aren’t in the lime light, because if they are that power is typically short lived (usually by people who start feeling oppressed from it).

I feel bad saying this, but part of me wonders if this is what they need. Wow that’s interesting, I always wake up like everything is chaos. I thought it was the sound of my alarm that’s doing it? But I see a huge spike on my heart rate. Do you wake up with an alarm? Is it an advertous song?

The scary thing about this is not that he did it. But that this is where we are at. I believe (I’m not from the us and don’t follow politics so could be wrong). That Biden believed in the system and thought others did too.

But with Trump coming in, he now believes the system is broken. What he believed in is broken. And as such he’s getting what’s his, for himself. And now democrat or Republican they both will stomp on the US system to get what they want.

It reminds me of this thing I read where countries would give all these donated designer clothes to some country, only for it to collapse their economy because making clothes was one of the only jobs available there.

I have an apostrophe and it’s super annoying as some companies see it as a SQL injection hack and sanitize it.

So I’ve received ID with Mc%20dole or they add a space in it. Or I’ll get a work email with an apostrophe but I cant use it anywhere because sites have it disabled. And I’ve missed my flight because I changed my ticket once to add the apostrophe and the system just broke at the gate.

Worse yet many flight companies have “you will not be able to board if your ID doesn’t exactly reflect your details” but their form doesn’t allow it. Even most forms for card payments don’t allow it even though it’s the name on my card.

Is she deemed as a contractor? Does the company file her taxes? Being paid or not paid based on outcome is usually somwthing i see on contracts which companies force people to become to skirt labour laws and make payment based on ourcome instead of hours.

This changes the answer for you, because the reason they do this is it puts the onus on you to make everyrhibg perfect becayse they are paying for a piece of work.

There are indeed laws that punish companies that do this however but is based on location and all that (fwiw im not a lawyer)

Yeah, imo they got worried that people would start asking government agencies to make legislation about things like this, so theyd rather backtrack now so they can keep it as part of their TOS.

And even if it was true, it would only be for now. It only takes one government at any time in the future.

Of course, besides the people who fall for the basic “VPN are some magic security device” most people (in particular those that know what they’re getting) always looks for the same thing “which one can I actually trust”.

Even if it’s not government owned you have no idea whose keeping logs, sharing data etc.

So you can really only base your trust on whether the company has come up to any issues with the government and have refused, or has run for a number of years and provide a positive track record. With the changing of laws and how companies work, you also need to regularly check that your they stay respecting privacy and security.

For what it’s worth, a VPN company worth is if it private, security and stands up to scrutiny. The moment trust is lost, the company is meaningless. So that’s something for those that are long lasting.

Imo this is a key problem with police in the US. You’re meant to take something like this video, analyse it, grow from it and provide a better procedure/training in what to do in that sort of situation so that it is more safe for both police and the public in the future.

Instead you get “police tried to stop a robber by shooting into a crowded street, two civilians were killed and the robber only has slight injuries”. And the police response is “oh we have qualified immunity, this is actually whats meant to happen, we stopped the robber didn’t we etc etc etc” and nothing is learnt.
