That’s an overly negative take. Yes, there are serious challenges to the production of lab-grown meat; Wikipedia provides a good summary. This isn’t a business that’s ready to take off soon. But humans who are actually smart and do know what they’re doing are working to solve these things.

The challenges are serious, and anyone telling you “world is simple and future is bright” about the future of this industry, yeah, that’s bullshit. Then one of Musk’s Xitter followers said “I hope Elon sues [Walz] for all he’s worth.” to which Musk replied “I think I will”.

I know it’s a long shot, but it’s possible Trump could be manipulated into doing some actual good. He’s at the phase of life where even he must realize he can’t take his material wealth with him in death, and might want to send a final “fuck you” to all his pathetic suck-up followers when he realizes that they just want to use him.

I can’t get inside the head of any of the crazies who go on a rampage and shoot up a school or a house of worship, but it gives me comfort to think that such people now know that if they shoot a CEO instead of a classroom full of children they will be regarded as having made a positive contribution to society. I really hope school shootings will go down after this, and I think they may well.

This “conspired to overthrow the government” case is in Washington DC and is presided over by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is treating it seriously.

I don’t often downvote comments, as I think that often that’s just a censorious way to say “I disagree”. But this comment so obviously adds nothing of value to the conversation, and indeed poisons it with petty grievance. So I feel totally justified in downvoting this comment.

It’s a parabola or hyperbola. Of course, it’s not technically an “orbit” since it isn’t closed; the Wikipedia pages are called Parabolic trajectory and Hyperbolic trajectory.

The only assumption he’s making is that, if you refer to yourself as “pro-life”, you mean what everyone else in America who calls themselves “pro-life” means. It’s a reasonable assumption, I mean, that’s the way words work.
