That link is full of scams and ads
Its the Associated Press. I saw no ads at all, but then I am using an ad blocker.

Ublock origin, apparently. I had to check.
It is on the internet. The internet is full of scams and ads. That being said, APNews is a legitimate site.
You should get an adblocker.
I opened it without adblocker:
-
1 “ad” for AP News up top
-
1 ad in the middle of the article
-
1 corner video (of an AP News story)
-
1 dismissible popup about subscribing
-
ad space below the article
Not “the best” but also not “full of scams and ads”
I didnt even consider the possibility that they werent using an adblocker. How does one live without it?
Lemmy Connect uses chrome for “previews” (Open External to view in Firefox) so I did the former to see what he was talking about.
No ads when I use Firefox, of course
Bocky probably has some questionable extensions in their web browser feeding more ads.

Rawdogging the Internet is bad for your health. Get a blocker. Make a Pihole DNS server. Etc.
These days, assume every website is loaded with trackers and scam ads, even legit ones, because they are.
this is by far one of the most credible news organizations in the world. and one of the least ad infested old media sites.
calm down.
How does someone who has made it all the way to Lemmy to post a comment not have an ad blocker these days? If you have the motivation to post, why not use that to look up how to block ads?
