At this point, I’m sure even hardened American Zionists in the US government understand Netanyahu will never agree to anything that leads to him in jail, and a ceasefire is one of those things. They’re still playing this game because it’s election time and they don’t want controversy. Maybe some will want to after as well, I dunno.

Ceasefire -> angry far-right parties -> coalition falls -> corruption charges resume

Honestly, Netanyahu will probably manufacture that controversy if he thinks it will win the election for Trump, anyway.
