This is a case of “faces in things”, but I thought it was kinda funny. I didn’t add quite enough honey and sugar to the recipe, but it was still moist and enjoyable. Making cornbread from scratch and tweaking online recipes so it doesn’t taste like cardboard. I want jiffy mix, without buying jiffy mix and I mostly nailed it…but at a cost of creating evil cornbread. Maybe the next batch won’t be evil?

    What recipes have you tried that aren’t good enough? Cornbread is such a basic and forgiving recipe that it’s hard to get it wrong.

      It’s more like homemade cornbread that other people have made that I’ve tried.

      I personally grew up on Jiffy Mix, but when I go to a family friend’s house where the Grandma is southern and makes scratch cornbread with 0 sweetness to it, and it’s the scratchiest thing on the planet, I make sure to make it sweeter for my tastes. I never want to make sad, unsweet cornbread.
