      I once had a job interview that asked for my social media. I said that I did not have any accounts. They said that was suspicious and could not continue the interview. I suspect the feds will use the same excuse to end the immigrants freedom.

      Probably better to have secondary accounts specifically for these asks.

    I only had fb but I gave that up in 2016. The only things I have now are my old reddit account that I haven’t used in a few years except to view occasionally but will not post, comment, or like anything. This Lemmy account is all I got and I am OK with that. It’s insane that we are considered the weird ones.

    I used to have LinkedIn and now I only have this Lemmy account which isn’t directly tied to any of my personal details… Good luck linking that?

    They ALREADY do it while filling the ESTA form, or the DS-160 (to request any visa)… so, no news here…

    Pretty sure this was already part of the ESTA visa application form that tourists need to fill in. Don’t get me wrong; it’s fucking bullshit as an entry or as a citizenship requirement. Just saying it’s not a new form of Orwellian overreach for the US government.
