Found in the wild in Tennessee
Lol what a douchebag. I love to see it.
It looks like they’re parked in the lines. What am I missing?
It probably lost charge and stayed parked there too long 😂
IDFK 🤷♂️
The Tesla Rusty Triangle, the vehicle for your high-iron, low-poly lifestyle.
Drive it anyway. The Cybertruck can handle it. The Cybertruck can handle anything! I heard it’s made out of 1978 Hot Wheels parts and 1982 Megaforce machismo.
The orange tag says “FUCK YOU” with no further elaboration.
You joke, but when my parents bought an electric car, the cops in their small town started harassing them. My mom drives like a saint but they keep pulling her over and giving her tickets that aren’t valid. She said she’s caught them waiting for her to leave the grocery store so they can follow her out of the parking lot and try to catch her doing something wrong. But she doesn’t, so they just pull her over anyway. This isn’t even in a rural town where people are rolling coal. It’s just a small suburb. Why do they care?
yea that didn’t happen
Thank you, oh arbiter of truth on the internet.
Electric = Liberuls
This is my favorite thing I’ve seen today.
Amazing how bad those panels look after what, a few months?
We’re they parked over a cross walk while picking up their kids from a very expensive private school!!!???
Probably a sovcit.
There is a point that you all will make Lemmy look like dick headed bullies to most people. Is that something your all gunning for?
Somehow, I doubt THIS is what would drive anyone away.
I mean, it’s got a boot.
I saw one of these for the first time the other day and was kind of awestruck at how dumb it looked in real life. I mean, I was never a big fan of the design but it really looked so much worse in person
Just saw one for the first time today. Man its honestly much worse in person.
it might be the ugliest car ever made honestly, i urge people to find an uglier mass-produced car.
It is very close in ugliness to the Fiat Multipla https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Multipla
Yeah, I know we’re all shitting on Elon by proxy, but the multipla, Aztec, pt cruiser, Chevy SSR and plenty others are uglier.
I can see the Multipla being uglier than the Cybertruck because it looks like two differently-sized cars spliced together. However, there is no way I agree the PT Cruiser, Chevy SSR, and Aztec are uglier than the Cybertruck. Look at the Cybertruck again. It looks like a 10 year-old drew a truck on MS Paint using a mouse.
Taste is subjective so if someone doesn’t like it that’s valid.
For me, designs are successful based on the impression and experience they give people. The cyber truck to me gives off a futuristic vibe, it’s intentional, it’s a design that knows what it wants. Minimal polygons, minimal rounded edges. Uncommon material/finish. Visually striking, unique, memorable.
I think the Aztec isn’t a good design because it wants to be futuristic but doesn’t go far enough. Because it’s trying to retain some traditional elements it looks like design by committee.
My impression is the pt cruiser and SSR were intended to be modern takes on retro/classy designs from say, the 50s. In the sense that they’re curved they succeed, but the curves are in the wrong places and the curve radiuses are wrong. They look bubbly. They look like toys. The effect is amplified because they don’t have a lot of the fine detail that was present on old cars.
a design that throws any modern safety feature in designing overboard is a bad design. It’s ugly, and it will age even uglier. It’s an incredibly dangerous design for anyone not inside it, it should be banned.
Aww. I kinda loved the SSR. It feels like a modern take on a vintage style.
Yeah I know some people like it. Only reason it was on my mind was my mom was talking about wanting one the other day and I had to look it up.
Mmm, I dunno. I kinda like this one, actually. It’s silly.
The Fiat Multipla is pretty bad, though. Who thought a double-chin as a car was a good idea.
I would take a PT cruiser over the cyber truck any day.
I would probably take a pt cruiser just because of the reputational risk of driving a cyber truck - that people will think you’re an Elon stan. But purely from a looks perspective I think the cyber truck looks way better.
from a looks perspective I think the cyber truck looks way better.
Bruh. Nobody can judge you for having bad taste if you don’t point it out.
I never expected something to take that from the Pontiac Aztek
I’ve said something similar in other threads - after seeing other people say it’s worse in person, I was still surprised at how cartoonishly awful it looked when I first saw one. They look terrible in pictures, but so much worse in person. I saw one that was painted bright green and it was so bad that I burst out laughing.
Wait, you’ve never wanted to drive a doorstop?
It’s been a lifelong dream of mine.
hah menus looked cooler than the game itself

SAME! I was surprised both at how big it was, and how much I didn’t like it.
Was driving in a Houston suburb and had one overtake me on the right. Just gave it a super wide berth. I know my 24 year old Civic would shred like paper if that thing hit me.
What’s stops someone from simply changing the tire? This seems like a bad design for a boot.
Most cars don’t come with a spare these days. That’s all
Isn’t changing a tire on any of the Teslas a bit of a challenge because of the weight? Do they come with heavy duty jacks? I wonder if the Cybertruck even comes with a spare at all.
It does not, however you can apparently buy a kit for $1250
https://insideevs.com/features/699202/tesla-cybertruck-accessories-guide/
You could. But they still know who owns the car. They also charge you for the cost of the boot.
Bring the tire with you when you pay the fine so they can take the boot off. All this does is create an inconvenience instead of immobilizing the vehicle.
“oh no, they’re paying their fines which is what we wanted them to do”
I love how every time I see this pos it gets worse 😂
The best part is, the sort of person that drives a Cybertruck is absolutely not the sort of truck (“truck”) owner that keeps an inverter and power tools in the bed, because anyone with an angle grinder would have a hearty chuckle at that before driving home.
Yeah I’m sure nobody would notice you angle grinding the boot off your truck and definitely not post it in this same community for the same amount of laughs
You must not be familiar with how fast a good angle grinder would make quick work of that thing. Just looking at it, I would guess 10 seconds if I was being extra generous. If I really wanted to get away with it, I’d toss on a fresh disc and ruin it as fast as I could by getting it off in record timing.
But I like yer moxie, super chief. 👈😎👈
And whoever put the lock on would have an even bigger laugh when they bill you for the damages.
FWIW I did this more than a statute of limitations ago, and seem to have gotten away with it.
Unless they can’t prove you were the one who damaged it, or even that there was damage. “Well, shucks, officer, I just tried to drive away with it on and it just sort of fell off. Dunno what happened to it after that, not my problem. You should invest in better boots, or maybe train the guy who put it on better.” (Bonus points if he’s the one who put it on.) Meanwhile, you take the pieces with you, grind off any serial numbers, and drop them in the nearest large body of water whenever is convenient. Bob’s your auntie.
edit: rofl @ all the people below trying to white knight for fucking meter maids.
“leave the poor step-up-from-mall-cop-on-a-segway alone!”
This is why they also put the giant notice on the driver’s window.
“your property was no longer in my possession, and my car was no longer in your way. If you’re saying I can bolt shit to your car if you park on my property and then sue you for damage when it flies off your car, I will keep this in mind when you come to serve me the summons.”
you’ll find that many people will decide you are not worth the effort to deal with.
I too wished we lived in a fantasy world.
if you say so, sport
Lmao Ok champ!
I think you’ll find the state doesn’t give a shit about your “logic” and can simply refuse to renew your license. The police who arrest you for driving without that license will be equally uninterested.

what a rude thing to say to someone out of the blue, especially when I didn’t ask what your opinion was.
It’s okay, I forgive your stupidity.
“I did not see it, for I am blind”
“Sorry - your registration renewal is denied for outstanding tickets.”
“Exhibit A: I looked at the truck and decided I wanted to buy it”
I’ve seen enough YouTube to know someone’s gonna find it with a magnet on a fishing pole.
hence why we grind off serial numbers. If you really wanted to be thorough, you’d cut it up into unrecognizable chunks.
This all sounds much easier than paying a ticket
That’s simply not a priority when you’re an Internet though guy!
yes, getting the angle grinder out of the back of your vehicle is easier than calling and waiting for parking enforcement to unboot you, I’m glad you agree!
If it’s the city that put that on, they might get you for vandalism or destruction of property, something like that. Those parking boots aren’t cheap.
https://lemy.lol/comment/10352027
they can’t prove that it didn’t just fall off when you tried driving away if they never find the pieces. You have to prove criminal liability in court, you aren’t responsible if the city uses “shitty parking boots” or “poorly trained officers”, and they can’t prove that isn’t what happened if they don’t find the cut up pieces lying by the side of the road.
in other words, the age old rule applies: only stupid criminals get caught.
doesn’t it have an inverter built in? with sockets in the tray bed area?
Depends on how new and fancy your truck is and whether you find yourself needing one. I know if you go back far enough they don’t have them, so I imagine at some point they became an option and perhaps more recently they became standard. I’ve never needed a truck myself (having a buddy with a truck is often enough for the odd job) so I’m not sure.
Does the cybertruck specifically have a 110V inverter?
Yes, you can get the “Powershare” option which will include 2 110V outlets in the cabin, 2 in the bed and 1 additional 240V outlet in the bed.
They have enough power to run an angle grinder, but that’s also about the only positive thing I can say about that car.
I can’t believe how run down it looks in OP’s picture, given how recently it was made available.
I mean, my angle grinder runs on drill batteries? I’m pretty heavily invested in a cordless battery system for power tools and lawn equipment.
And that’s kind of the problem with stainless steel. My dishwasher has a stainless steel front and it looks like the inside of a shower drain 6 minutes after I wash it.

Sure, there are cordless power tools. I am not sure what you’re saying.
As for your dishwasher: I’m sure it has received surface treatment as the people designing it made the connection dishwasher ——> water in their heads, so you end up with a surface that, while proudly displaying every fingerprint, at least doesn’t immediately pick up surface rust. Or it features one of the 20 types of alloy that are more resistant to rust. That apparently didn’t happen for the Cybertruck.
In any case, what I was saying: maybe plain stainless wasn’t such a great choice for the body of a car. Maybe if you really lean into it and intentionally add to the rust / accentuate the shoddy exterior, the overall design could work as DIY’ed, end-of-the-world, Armageddon - style Mad Max vehicle. I could see that.
I guess what I was saying was it should be a moot point if there’s 110VAC available, your truck grinder should have its own power.
inverter: exactly. my question was intended to be rhetorical, since, well, as you pointed out.
to be fair, archonet is slightly right - a cybertruck owner wouldn’t need an (extra) inverter, since they likely already have one built-in.
Best part is the fingerprints that act as a door handle
Ew I missed that. Someone is not following the factory recommend hourly full chassis wipedowns.
The cyberpinto got booted
